In general surgery, the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix, bile ducts, and, in some circumstances, the thyroid gland are all addressed as gastrointestinal problems. They also deal with breast, soft tissue, and skin conditions, hernias, injuries, peripheral artery disease, and other conditions. Additionally, they perform endoscopic procedures like gastroscopies and colonoscopies.
